I'm A Celebrity: Fizz can bring sparkle to camp Down Under
Bugs, banter and sado-masochism are back in abundance as the 16th edition of I'm a Celebrity hits our TV screens on Sunday.
Ten celebrities must swallow their pride and all sorts of nasty critters Down Under as part of a series of challenges to earn slap-up meals and a stab at being crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
The class of 2017 will be put through the mill during the Bushtucker trials as they get up close and personal with snakes, spiders and cockroaches, while their taste buds will be tested with such delicacies as kangaroo anus and crocodile penis.
It's not for the faint-hearted, but who are the contestants and what are their chances of being voted the nation's darling?
Jamie Lomas, who plays Hollyoaks bad boy Warren Fox, is the 5/1 favourite to come through the three-week ordeal as the overall winner, but he has stiff competition from an interesting mix of rivals.
Jennie McAlpine (pictured below), Fizz in Coronation Street, is just behind at 6/1, but one name you may not be familiar with is Stanley Johnson, 77-year-old dad of gaffe-prone Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson who was unaware his father was joining the show. The author and former MEP is 7/1.
YouTube star Jack Maynard, 22-year-old brother of singer-songwriter Conor Maynard, is 7/1, and comedian Shappi Khorsandi 8/1.
Amir Khan has put his boxing career on hold in pursuit of small-screen glory at 10/1, the same price as Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo and Rebekah Vardy, wife of England and Leicester footballer Jamie.
Ex-Saturdays singer and dancer Vanessa White is 11/1 and propping up the group is former feisty Chelsea midfielder Dennis Wise at 12/1.
Of the previous 15 winners, 10 have been men, but Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattinson (2015) and Gogglebox favourite Scarlett Moffatt (2016) have won the last two editions, so the pendulum may well have swung towards the female of the species.
Carl Foggarty aside, the age range of winners has generally been between 25-35 in the last seven years, so trend-wise we could be looking at a woman in her 20s or 30s that has the stomach for a fight and can win the hearts of a nation.
No-one knows how contestants will act once they're in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of the camp, but Jenny McAlpine looks to be a great bet at 6/1.
One of Corrie's most popular actors, her warm Lancastrian accent and game-for-anything attitude is sure to be a hit with camp-mates and viewers alike. With 271,000 followers on Twitter, she already has a strong fanbase to count on for votes.
If she can handle the odd fish eye and being buried alive with creepy crawlies, Fizz can be cracking open the bubbly in three weeks' time.
Jennie McAlpine to win I'm A Celebrity 2017 @ 6/1
