Manchester City will face a new-look Arsenal when they begin the defence of their Premier League title at the Emirates Stadium.

While City have added Riyad Mahrez to their ranks, the Gunners have a new manager in Unai Emery following Arsene Wenger's departure after 22 years at the club.

Emery has made a number of new signings although they have managed to hold on to their star players despite there being no Champions League football again this season.

Arsenal vs Manchester City Betting Tips

Here are our best tips for the match and we also have a range of other markets available.

The lowdown

Manchester City beat Arsenal in both Premier League meetings last season as well as in the EFL Cup final, scoring three times on each occasion.

Pep Guardiola's side prevailed 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in November before a 3-0 win at Wembley.

That scoreline was repeated four days later as City blew Arsenal apart with three strikes in a blistering first 33 minutes which prompted a chorus of boos around the Emirates.

But Emery will be determined to make Arsenal harder to beat and will be looking for a positive start so we will begin our Arsenal vs Manchester City predictions by taking City to win and both teams to score at 9/4.

City suffered just one loss on the road - a thrilling 4-3 reverse to Liverpool - and maintained their record of scoring in every away game courtesy of Gabriel Jesus' stoppage-time winner on the final day at Southampton which also saw them reach 100 points.

We think this will be a tight affair so City to win 2-1 at 17/2 is appealing while the visitors to win after being held at half-time at 4/1 completes our selections from the Arsenal vs Manchester City odds.

First goalscorer tips

Sergio Aguero is the favourite to open the scoring but, should he start, Raheem Sterling may be better value at 6/1.

The England man received some criticism for his performances at the World Cup but he thrives under Guardiola at City, scoring 18 goals last season, and his pace can cause problems for the Arsenal defence.

Anytime goalscorer tips

Mahrez finally completed his move to City this summer and will be keen to make an instant impact due to the competition for places in a star-studded squad.

While Guardiola may ease several of his World Cup stars back into action, Mahrez was not present in Russia and can open his City account at 7/4.

Where the game will be won or lost

For the first time in over two decades, Arsenal head into the new season facing the unknown.

Emery is the new man in charge and there has been a relative overhaul of the squad with goalkeeper Bernd Leno challenging Petr Cech for the gloves, experienced defenders Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos added to a questionable back line, and the midfield guile of stand-out signing Lucas Torreira signals the intent of the club moving forward.

They also have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in attack and he can be a Golden Boot contender having netted 10 times in 13 league games following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in January.

City finished the season with 100 points, 32 wins, 106 goals and a 19-point advantage over nearest rivals Manchester United - all new records.

Guardiola drilled into City a quick-moving, possession-based game that could tear opponents apart with lightning breaks and incisive passing.

Teams will hopefully fare better in reducing their threat and naturally after a World Cup players can be slow starters, which should play into Arsenal's hands.

Team news

Aaron Ramsey, whose contract expires at the end of the season, suffered a slight calf injury but has returned to training and could be fit to take his place in the Gunners side. Sead Kolasinac (knee) and Laurent Koscielny (Achilles) are definitely out as summer arrivals Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi all push to make their competitive debuts.

Manchester City midfielders Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are both available after returing to training on Monday, but Douglas Luiz is likely to be loaned out again because City have failed to obtain a work permit.

Traders' Tips - View from the trading floor

Emery is hoping to adopt a Klopp-style high-pressing game all over the pitch which could lead to a high goal return. Premier League champions City are notorious for scoring plenty themselves and an entertaining match full of goals is anticipated.
