Chelsea vs Derby Betting Tips

Here are our best tips for Wednesday's match for which we also have a range of other markets available:

The lowdown

Lampard won every major trophy during 13 years as a player at Stamford Bridge.

The former England international is also the club's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals in all competitions.

He told the club's official website: "It's a nice occasion for me, it's a nice story and nice emotions around it personally, but the great test is for the players.

"We know that our performance has to be top class to have any chance in the game so that's the standard we need to set and keep up with it.

"It was my home and my club for 13 years and the opportunity go back and see the fans and the people behind the scenes is an incredible occasion for me."

Chelsea overcame the absence of top scorer Eden Hazard with a back injury to put four past Burnley without reply to move to second in the table, two points behind Liverpool.

The Blues are unbeaten in nine meetings with the Rams, winning eight, but we feel the Rams will give a good account of themselves so the first of our Chelsea vs Derby predictions is for a home win with both teams scoring at 15/8.

First goalscorer tips

Ruben Loftus-Cheek capped a fine week by scoring only his second Premier League goal for Chelsea in the 4-0 rout of Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday. The England midfielder had netted a hat-trick in the 3-1 Europa League win over BATE Borisov in midweek - his first goals for the club in 30 months.

He replaced Pedro after half an hour at Turf Moor and is expected to start this tie, which makes first goalscorer odds of 11/2 rather appealing.

Anytime goalscorer tips

Mason Mount has been granted permission by Chelsea to feature for Derby in this cup tie - along with Fikayo Tomori - and is expected to play despite picking up a foot injury during the 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Two of the 19-year-old's goals this season have been in this competition and he was also impressive in the last round against Manchester United. He will be desperate to score against his parent club and is 6/1 in the anytime goalscorer odds.

Where the game will be won or lost

Chelsea are yet to lose this season in any competition and have gone unbeaten after 10 games in the top flight for only the fifth time in their history.

In the absence of top scorer Hazard, Chelsea have reeled off successive wins over BATE and Burnley, scoring seven goals with just one conceded.

There is a good balance to Maurizio Sarri's side with the defence keeping six clean sheets and conceding more than one goal on just two occasions.

At the other end the goals are flowing and are being spread across the team, particularly without the services of Hazard recently due to a back complaint.

While Derby may not be as prolific going forward - Wednesday's impressive 4-1 at West Brom aside - they too have shown a steely resolve, only twice in 18 games having allowed more than one goal.

They have the experience in Scott Carson, Richard Keogh, Tom Huddlestone and the youthful exuberance of loan duo Mason Mount and Harry Wilson and Wales international Tom Lawrence.

Lampard has got them playing some attractive football and we feel they can cause the top-flight side problems so the hosts to win 2-1 is the second of our free football tips.

Let's finish our Chelsea vs Derby predictions by taking the BetStars odds boost of 5/2 for Loftus-Cheek to score and Chelsea to win.

Traders' Tips - View from the trading floor

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than Chelsea who have conceded just once in their three Europa League games. Maurizio Sarri will make changes for this match but there will still be plenty of quality on show just as there was for the win at Liverpool in round three. With such a strong squad the BetStars Odds Boost from 13/8 to 15/8 on Chelsea winning either 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 looks appealing.
