Mexico vs USA betting tips
Here are our best tips for the Mexico vs USA match and we also have a range of other Gold Cup betting markets available.
These two bitter rivals have between them won 13 of the 18 CONCACAF Gold Cups since the tournament started in 1991 and Monday's final will be the 10th successive time one of these countries has been crowned champions.
Mexico lead the overall tally by one and have won four of the five finals the nations have contested in the last 30 years or so, but the United States are the holders having beaten Jamaica 2-1 in California two years ago.
Both teams stormed into the knockout stage with perfect records from the group stage and the USA went into their semi-final against Jamaica without conceding a goal having beaten Curacao 1-0 in the last eight.
Mexico have had a rocky ride in the knockout phase having needed a penalty shoot-out to get past Costa Rica and extra time to beat Haiti, who hit the crossbar in the final minute of extra time.
That said, Mexico deserved to go through having dominated possession at 70% and winning the shot count 27-11, five of which were on target compared with Haiti's one.
The USA won the last encounter between these teams 1-0 in a friendly last September, but none of Mexico's side was in the starting XI that faced Haiti so we're dismissing that result.
Indeed, Mexico have won two and drawn one of the last three competitive matches against the USA and we fancy them to win this one inside 90 minutes at 5/4.
Gregg Berhalter's side were second best against Curacao in the second half, but Mexico will be a much tougher proposition.
Football betting tips
If you're interested in tips on this weekend's football, check out our in-depth previews below:
First goalscorer tips
Raul Jimenez was Mexico's most dangerous player against Haiti and it was his penalty that finally sent his side into the final.
The Wolves forward also broke the deadlock against Costa Rica and he has scored the second highest number of goals at the Gold Cup with five, so 4/1 in the first goalscorer odds looks the way to go.
Anytime goalscorer tips
Pulisic scored a double against Jamaica to make it three goals for the tournament and yet he is priced at 10/3 in the anytime goalscorer odds.
The Chelsea winger was also on target in a 6-0 win against Trinidad & Tobago, so looks well priced to score in the final.
Where the game will be won or lost
Mexico are the favourites in the Gold Cup odds to win the final at 6/10 with the USA underdogs at 13/10 which reflects El Tri's dominance in finals against their rivals and their recent record in competitive matches.
Gerado Martino's men will have to improve their finishing, though, after taking a combined 49 shots and scoring just twice in their two knockout games, both of which went to extra time.
Luis Montes also missed an open goal in the dying seconds of the win against Haiti so Martino will be working on his attackers in the build-up to the match.
However, their pace and technique will be a concern for what looks like an average USA team, Pusilic and Jordan Morris aside.
The USA scored 11 goals in the group stage, two fewer than Mexico, so we're expecting these sides to light the touch paper in what is a traditionally exciting fixture.
With that in mind, the next of our Gold Cup final betting tips is for over 2.5 goals at 6/5, decent odds for two teams that like to get on the front foot.
The last of our Mexico vs USA betting tips is for the men in green to win and both teams to score at 19/5 just as they have done in two of their last three competitive matches.
