The Terriers survived against all odds last season courtesy of courageous draws at Manchester City and Chelsea but it has been a struggle this term.
Feature match previews for this week
If you're interested in tips on our feature Champions League matches for this week, check out our in-depth previews below:
David Wagner's side have netted just four goals in their first 10 games - hitting the woodwork on six occasions - and are yet to register a goal on home soil in five outings.
Indeed, Town's last-gasp 1-0 win at home to Watford in April was the last time they celebrated victory in any competition, a run of 15 games, and it is also their only win in their previous 20 top-flight matches.
Fulham are finding life tough on their return to the Premier League and head to West Yorkshire bidding to end a run of four successive defeats and seven games without a win in this competition.
.@Jokanovic: "We can't give up, but we must accept the criticism. We have to be strong and understand that negative comments are a part of football. I believe we're strong enough and have enough quality to change our situation in the #PL" #MCIFUL-- Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) October 31, 2018
The Cottagers have picked up just one point on their travels, scoring five times and conceding 15. Indeed, they have leaked a league-high 28 goals in 10 games so far this season.
With that in mind, the first of our Huddersfield vs Fulham predictions is for a draw and both teams to score at odds of 10/3.
First goalscorer tips
Philip Billing has been a consistent performer in the Huddersfield midfield this season and has had several long-range attempts at goal.
The 22-year-old Dane has scored one of the four goals Town have mustered this term - in the 1-1 draw at Everton - and could provide the spark the home side need against their fellow strugglers. With odds of 11/1 available, Billing is our pick from the first goalscorer odds.
Anytime goalscorer tip
Aleksandar Mitrovic has netted five times in 10 games this season although he has now gone four games without a goal.
The Serbia striker is a big threat up front and averages 3.6 shots per game, keeping defences on their toes throughout. He will hope to get some joy out of the Huddersfield back-line and 15/8 in the anytime scorer odds is worth support.
Where the game will be won or lost
Don't expect too many fireworks at the John Smith's Stadium on Bonfire Night.
While defeat for either side will hardly see their season go up in smoke, it will certainly be a major blow to their attempts to kick-start their campaigns.
Huddersfield were the joint-lowest scorers with 28 from 38 games last term, a huge problem which Wagner has failed to address.
While losing at home to Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool is no disgrace, picking up just one point from home encounters with Cardiff (0-0) and Crystal Palace (0-1) will have been more than disappointing.
Home games against West Ham and Brighton follow this encounter, three fixtures which could well prove pivotal to the Terriers' hopes of securing a third term in the top flight.
Fulham leaked just a goal a game in the Championship last season and netted 79 times but it has been a role reversal since promotion via a play-off win over Aston Villa at Wembley.
The Cottagers have conceded 28 times in 10 games and have not helped their cause by falling behind inside the opening 15 minutes of matches on four occasions.
That might give the home side some encouragement so 17/20 on Huddersfield to score the first goal is the next of our Premier League predictions.
Fulham do possess some quality going forward, though, and Town could become nervous with a slender lead so Huddersfield HT/Draw FT at 12/1 is worth consideration as the last of our free football tips.
Terence Kongolo could return for Huddersfield after a hamstring problem but midfielder Danny Williams (knee) is not in contention.
Kongolo and Tommy Smith (knee), both missing for the last three games, have been back in training, as have Rajiv van La Parra and Abdelhamid Sabiri after illness.
Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald will return having missed Thursday's Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City due to suspension after being sent off against Bournemouth last weekend. Defender Joe Bryan remains unavailable because of a hamstring injury.
Traders' Tips - View from the trading floor
As poor as Fulham have been in defence, they do at least have a decent attack, whereas Huddersfield are struggling in both departments and have not scored at home this season. This could be the day the Cottagers' season kicks off.
