Scotland vs Israel Betting Tips

Here are our best tips for Tuesday's match for which we also have a range of other markets available:

The lowdown

Scotland fulfilled the first half of their requirements on Saturday by crushing an Albania side reduced to 10 men in the 21st minute when defender Mergim Mavraj was sent off for a headbutt on Ryan Christie.

That dismissal clearly helped their cause but the scoreline was impressive nevertheless bearing in mind nine players withdrew from the Scotland squad in the build-up to the game, although McLeish has since revealed that only three of the players were set to start in Shkoder.

It was Scotland that had the disadvantage of losing a player to a red card when they met Israel in October, John Souttar seeing red in the second half for a second cautionable offence.

The Scots looked to be in control with a 1-0 half-time lead but Dor Peretz levelled and a Kieran Tierney own goal meant they went home empty-handed, but the result in Shkoder has set up a potential thriller for which the first of our Nations League predictions is both teams to score at 21/20.

Israel have won their last three matches, all at home, beating Scotland 2-1, Albania 2-0 and Guatemala 7-0 and although they lost their last two games on the road without scoring, the memories of Haifa will stand them in good stead for what should be an open game.

First goalscorer tips

We bagged a nice 10/1 shot on Ryan Fraser opening the scoring in Albania and fancy the Bournemouth midfielder to do so again at 15/2.

Fraser is one of the few quality players in a Scotland squad which has been decimated by injuries and he can add to the five goals in 16 appearances for club and country, three of which have broken the deadlock.

Anytime goalscorer tips

James Forrest's confidence will be high after scoring his first international goals with two superb second-half finishes to complete the rout against Albania at the weekend.

The Celtic winger now has nine goals in his last 10 appearances for club and country so looks excellent value at 16/5 as an anytime scorer tip.

Where the game will be won or lost

McLeish was forced to make several changes to his team sheet for Saturday's win which saw Callum Paterson playing at right-back.

Paterson played mainly in that position during his time at Hearts although he occasionally operated as a striker, the role he is starting to make his own at Cardiff.

Scotland will once again rely on the pace and craft of wingers Fraser and Forrest, neither of whom started in Israel, with the Bournemouth man out injured and the latter playing the last quarter from off the bench.

We think their inclusion will make a massive difference to the outcome of Tuesday's match and so the second of our Scotland vs Israel predictions is for Scotland to win and both teams to score at 10/3.

Scotland may we feeling the effects of their trip to Albania but head coach McLeish has promised to wrap up his players in "cotton wool".

Israel only need a draw but we expect Scotland to burst out of the blocks and reckon there will be goals at both ends in the first half at 19/5 in the last of our Nations League betting tips.

The Scots have scored in the opening 45 minutes in all three of their Nations League matches and Israel will be on a high following their demolition job on Guatemala over the weekend.
