Tottenham vs Juventus: Hot Spurs to complete Italian job

Tottenham vs Juventus Match Preview and Predictions

Tottenham take on Juventus at Wembley on Wednesday looking to repeat their Champions League quarter-final appearance of 2011 when they were torn apart by Real Madrid.

Spurs go into the match on the back of an unbeaten 17-game run - their longest in over 50 years.

Juventus relinquished a two-goal lead in the first leg but have not conceded in domestic competition this year, a run of nine games.

Match-up history

Spurs fought back from conceding two goals inside the first 10 minutes in Turin to earn a 2-2 draw and are now 14/1 seventh favourites to win the Champions League, with Juve priced at 25/1.

Another draw is 23/10, but Spurs impressed taking the game to Juve in the opening leg and they can go through with a win at 6/5.

Juve have been eliminated in all six previous encounters with English clubs at the knockout stage and while that does not discount a draw, Juventus will need to press for a win at Wembley which should fall into the hands of a Tottenham team that counter-attacks at pace.

Team news

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld is definitely out but Jan Vertonghen returned against Huddersfield at the weekend.

Juve striker Paulo Dybala returned from a hamstring injury to score a stoppage-time winner at Lazio on Sunday which kept their title hopes alive.

Match facts

The second of our free football tips is for a penalty to be awarded at 14/5. There were two spot-kicks in the first leg and there could easily have been more.

We expect an open game between two attacking sides with plenty of goalmouth action and with players making forays into the box at pace, defensive errors are likely.

Christian Eriksen was on target with an excellent free-kick in the first leg and he also tested Gianluigi Buffon with a great strike.

The Dane has three goals in his last eight games and before the Huddersfield game was Spurs' third most dangerous player over with an expected goals tally of 1.6 over 10 games, so Eriksen to score any time at 13/5 looks appealing.
