Bayern Munich vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Here are our predictions for the first leg for which we also have a range of other markets available:
The first leg at Anfield promised much but delivered little in the way of excitement with just three combined shots on target in 90 minutes.
Liverpool were missing suspended defender Virgil van Dijk and with both Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez out injured, fourth-choice centre-back Joel Matip got the nod with midfielder Fabinho playing alongside him.
That was not the ideal scenario to be facing this season's top scorer in the Champions League, Robert Lewandowski, whose eight goals have played a major part in Bayern's successful run in which they won four and drew two of their games in a weak group comprising Ajax, Benfica and AEK Athens.
On the plus side the Reds kept a clean sheet and Van Dijk is back to marshal the defence at the Allianz Arena, while Bayern Munich have been made weaker by the absences of Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich who are both suspended.
It's a tough game to call, but Bayern to win inside 90 minutes at 23/20 and reach their eighth quarter-final in a row is the first of our Bayern Munich vs Liverpool predictions.
Liverpool have lost their last four away games in the Champions League and although Bayern are without two influential players and possibly more, it could be said Mo Salah has been missing for weeks having scored just once in his last seven starts.
Bayern recently won 5-1 at fourth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach and thrashed Wolfsburg 6-0 on Saturday even with several players missing through injury.
Europa League previews

First goalscorer tips
Robert Lewandowski is a goalscoring machine and tops both this season's Champions League (eight) and Bundesliga (17) charts in another superb campaign..
The Poland striker scored a double for the second match in row in Saturday's 6-0 drubbing of Wolfsburg and looks an obvious first goalscorer pick at 3/1 for Wednesday's match
Anytime goalscorer tips
Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry has found the the net in his last two games and looks a decent prospect as an anytime goalscorer at 2/1, but for value we prefer Javi Martinez at 13/2.
The Spanish defensive midfielder scored against Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach in the last couple of weeks, both from headers, and this looks like a game that could be settled from a set-piece.
Where the game will be won or lost
Both teams will need to improve if they are to entertain hopes of a place in the last eight and on another day the errors committed by goalkeepers Alisson and Manuel Neuer would have been punished.
Jurgen Klopp was unhappy with one particular aspect of his side's play against Bayern as he revealed in his post-match press conference.
"He has an unbelievable record, that's all. His goals brought us where we are - not only [his goals], but a big part of it." 💫-- Liverpool FC (@LFC) March 8, 2019
Jürgen Klopp on @MoSalah...
He said: "Our problem was on one hand the quality of the opponent and on the other hand our last pass was not our friend. We had 10 or 12 situations where everything was prepared, everything was on a plate and then we played a very average last pass or gave it away."
That's also an area of concern for Bayern coach Niko Kovac who needs to find a replacement for Kimmich, the Germany left-back who has provided 10 assists this season.
Veteran defender Rafinha, who is leaving Bayern at the end of the season, is the obvious choice, with fitness concerns over potential replacement Goretzka, a right-footed player but one who filled in at left-back against Augsburg.
With Liverpool failing to score in three of their last five matches and Bayern's main supplier of goals out of the reckoning, the next of our Bayern Munich vs Liverpool betting tips is for under 2.5 goals at 11/10, with the German champions winning by a single goal at 17/2.
Bayern have won 1-0 in two of their last five home games in the Bundesliga and with some key players missing we should not expect a feast of goals.
Traders' Tips - View from the trading floor
Bayern are hampered by injuries and suspensions, and they will be nervous about conceding a goal which would require them to score at least twice, so Liverpool to qualify at 9/10 looks the pick of the odds here.
