PSG vs Liverpool: French champions and Reds to serve up another treat

Liverpool's shock 2-0 defeat at Red Star Belgrade last time out means all four teams in Group C can qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League with just two points separating top and bottom.

Despite that loss, the Reds still lead the group and will secure a place in the last 16 with victory against a PSG team that are 15 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after winning all 14 games in a record-breaking start to the season.
Should PSG lose on Wednesday and Napoli beat Red Star Belgrade, the French champions will not be able to finish in the top two.

PSG vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Roberto Firmino's powerful strike in the final minute handed Liverpool a 3-2 victory and gave us a winning 5/4 tip on the match result, as well as a 49/20 success on the outcome and both teams to score, when the teams met at Anfield in September.
Another win for Liverpool in the Champions League odds is priced at 43/20, but with so much attacking talent on display we're not confident about picking a winner for Wednesday's match and prefer the goals market instead.
A point may be enough for Liverpool in the long term but they will not want to risk needing a result at Napoli so the first of our PSG vs Liverpool predictions is over 3.5 goals at 5/4.

That's been the case in both of PSG's home matches in the group stage and of course there were five goals at Anfield.
PSG's 14 Ligue 1 matches have produced an average of 3.78 goals this season and with pressure on both teams to deliver, we should see plenty of action at both ends.

First goalscorer tips
With players like Neymar, Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino hopefully all on show, we are spoilt for choice in the first goalscorer odds.
However, Mbappe and Neymar were both injured on international duty and missed Saturday's 1-0 win against Toulouse, although coach Thomas Tuchel is growing increasingly confident both players will be fit for the game.
But with doubts surrounding the duo, we prefer the merits of Salah to break the deadlock at 5/1. The Egyptian has scored six goals in seven games and interestingly four times as a first goalscorer during that spell.
Anytime goalscorer tips
Thomas Meunier was on target at Anfield which kickstarted a run of three goals in as many games and although he has not found the net since then, the wing-back looks a steal at 5/1 in the anytime scorer odds.
The Belgium international had one of the few chances PSG created against Toulouse when he headed over and he should get at least one chance when the Reds visit the French capital.
Where the game will be won or lost
The way PSG approach the game will depend on the availability of Neymar and Mbappe, who were sorely missed on Saturday.
Despite taking an early lead against Toulouse at the weekend when Cavani flicked the ball over a defender and volleyed home, that was one of only two shots on target for the home side.
If Mbappe and Neymar are fit, we should be in for a cracker and so the next of our PSG vs Liverpool betting tips is both teams to score in the first half at 23/10.
That was the case at Anfield and it should be a similar breathtaking opening half in the French capital.
The last of our Champions League predictions is for the first goal to be scored between 21-30 minutes at 5/1. The deadlock has been broken between 20 and 30 minutes in three of PSG's group games and although one of those matches was a minute out for our purposes, a goal was then scored two minutes later.
A similar pattern has emerged in Liverpool's games with two matches seeing the first goal between 21-30 minutes and another in the 20th.

PSG have been tearing it up in Ligue 1 with 14 wins on the bounce and on home turf with exceptional firepower in their side they can get one over last season's finalists and boost their hopes of making it to the knockout phase.
