Maurizio Sarri gets an early taste of Premier League life in the Community Shield as he takes his new Chelsea charges to Wembley for the traditional curtain-raiser to the season.
The Blues brought in Sarri from Napoli after finally sacking Antonio Conte 55 days after winning the FA Cup in May and despite overseeing the first week of pre-season training.
Sarri's counterpart Pep Guardiola won his first piece of silverware last season as Manchester City secured their third Premier League title in seven years.
Manchester City vs Chelsea Betting Tips
Here are our best tips for the match and we also have a range of other markets available.
Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 home and away last season as they romped to the title with 100 points - 19 more than arch rivals United.
City added one high-profile signing during the transfer window with the £60million capture of winger Riyad Mahrez from Leicester, but with such a strong squad it is unlikely there will be too many more additions at the Etihad.
Chelsea have also made one big signing this summer, bringing Italy midfielder Jorginho to Stamford Bridge as part of the deal which saw Sarri leave Napoli.
Sarri has a reputation for attacking football and last season Napoli were the third highest scorers in Serie A with 77 goals from 38 games as they missed out on a first Scudetto in 28 years by four points from Juventus.
Doubts surround how Chelsea will approach the City clash but they still have the same players as last season despite speculation over the futures of Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Willian.
The champions to beat Chelsea in 90 minutes as they did twice last season is 19/20 in the Community Shield odds but the first of our Man City vs Chelsea betting tips takes advantage of a BetStars Odds Boost as we predict Manchester City to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 at 9/4.

Guardiola knows his squad inside out, but Sarri will take some time to assess his players and there still may be some exits and additions before the Community Shield kicks off on August 5.
City completed the double over the Londoners last season and three of the last five Community Shield games have ticked the Odds Boost box.
However, for punters who are more cautious with their football betting, City to win and under 4.5 goals is 13/10 - an outcome which would have paid out on four of the last five Community Shield games.
First goalscorer tips
Sergio Aguero was Manchester City's top scorer last season with 21 goals and the World Cup won't have exhausted him too much after starting just two of Argentina's four games in Russia.
The striker has a good record against Chelsea, scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge in April 2016 and then equalising in a 2-1 defeat at the same ground in the following season.
With four goals in five appearances against Chelsea, we're tipping Aguero to break the deadlock at 7/2.
Anytime goalscorer tips
Bernardo Silva weighed in with his fair share of goals towards the end of last season and is an interesting option at 23/10 in the anytime scorer market.
The Portugal international did not score at the World Cup but proved his attacking prowess with four goals in his last 10 games for the Premier League champions.
Where the game will be won or lost
City and Chelsea are expected to be among the most attacking teams in the Premier League next season but goals were at a premium when they met during the last campaign.
That was certainly the case in the opening 45 minutes when both matches were goalless at the break.
The last two Community Shield contests have also been without a goal in the first half, so the next Community Shield prediction is for the game to be scoreless at half-time at 43/20.
Many players from both City and Chelsea went deep into the World Cup and all players are entitled to a three-week break from their last international game so we expect a lot of the players to be rusty and possibly absent at Wembley.
City topped the expected goals tables in both attack and defence last season, scoring 106 times and conceding just 27 - the highest and lowest of all Premier League teams respectively.
However, we're expecting fans to be waiting for the first goal at the home of English football and think the deadlock could be broken between 51-60 minutes. Last season Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in the 46th minute, while Kevin de Bruyne scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half at Stamford Bridge.
As we expect it to take a while for this game to warm up, the first goal to be scored in this period at 10/1 looks good value.
Both teams are missing many of their World Cup stars but Chelsea have been hit the worst with Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante, Thibaut Courtois, Willian, Olivier Giroud, Gary Cahill and Michy Batshuayi all missing. Cesc Fabregas is doubtful so 17-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi could feature as he has done in pre-season.
Only Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne are out of the reckoning for City, who have new signing Riyad Mahrez available, but Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz is still awaiting a work permit.
