Rangers take a slender 1-0 lead to Russia after Connor Goldson netted in the first leg at Ibrox as they look to secure a place in the Europa League group stages.

Steven Gerrard remains unbeaten as Rangers manager after 11 games and his side have been hard to beat away from home in this competition.

FC Ufa have suffered three successive defeats in their domestic league and have not won in 90 minutes in five matches.

FC Ufa vs Rangers Betting Tips

Here are our best tips for the match and we also have a range of other markets available:

The lowdown

Goldson kept Rangers on track for the group stages with his close-range header four minutes before the break proving the difference in the first leg in Glasgow.

But Gerrard will have been disappointed his side could not put more daylight between themselves and their opponents with Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelos and Goldson missing other opportunities.

The Russians arrived in Glasgow on the back of a 3-0 beating from Dynamo Moscow domestically and it was clear early they would not pose Rangers the problems Osijek and Maribor managed in previous rounds.

However, Rangers were grateful once again for Allan McGregor - the saviour in their draw in Maribor - as the keeper blocked Dmitry Zhivoglyadov's strike at the back post after his defence had switched off at the start of the second half.

There was another scare when Ivan Paurevic hooked over from the resulting corner as Sergei Tomarov's men dug in to keep themselves in the tie.

But the hosts have lost their last three games without scoring so we will kick off our FC Ufa v Rangers betting tips by going for the visitors to win at 19/10.

First goalscorer tips

After making his second Rangers 'debut' as a second-half substitute in the first leg, Kyle Lafferty bagged a brace in the six-goal draw at Motherwell on Sunday.

He netted 19 goals for Hearts last season and the experience of the Northern Ireland international will be crucial for Gerrard as they look to get the job done here. With odds of 9/2 for the 30-year-old to break the deadlock, we think that is worth supporting.

Anytime goalscorer tips

Scott Arfield joined Rangers on a four-year deal in the summer after leaving Burnley. The 29-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the team and although he was not among the goals over the last few seasons at Turf Moor, the Canada international has the ability to create chances.

With the home side needing to score to get back into the tie, that could leave gaps at the other end and 11/2 for Arfield to score at anytime gets our vote.

Where the game will be won or lost

Rangers had conceded just four goals in 10 games before Sunday's thrilling 3-3 draw at Motherwell.

Adopting a new 3-5-2 formation, Rangers also fell behind for the first time this season when Danny Johnson struck after just three minutes.

Lafferty twice levelled before Ovie Ejaria put Rangers ahead for the first time only for Peter Hartley to earn a share of the spoils deep into stoppage time.

Now a 4,600-mile round trip is the last thing Rangers needed with the first Old Firm derby of the season at Parkhead awaiting them on Sunday.

But they have yet to concede in three away legs in this competition this season and have only been breached twice in seven games in total.

Gerrard will expect better focus and concentration ahead of Sunday's encounter and with their opponents being blanked in four of their six home matches this season, the second of our free football tips is for Rangers to win after being held at half-time at 11/2.

We complete our football predictions by covering ourselves by predicting Rangers or Draw at 1/2 in the double chance market.
