Spain vs England: Southgate's young guns to suffer in Seville

Spain vs England Match Preview and Predictions

England manager Gareth Southgate takes his troops to Seville for the penultimate match of their Nations League campaign following an encouraging goalless draw with Croatia on Friday night when Eric Dier and Harry Kane both hit the woodwork.

Spain gave us a clean sweep of betting tips in the 4-1 win in Wales with football odds of 29/20, 11/8 and 19/20, plus Paco Alcacer obliged as an anytime goalscorer tip at 13/10.

We also had two winning tips from England's game in Riejka with the draw (41/20) and draw and under 2.5 goals (49/20) both doing the business, plus a 15/1 four-fold football accumulator success on four of Friday's Nations League matches thanks to a late goal for Finland in Estonia.

We're hoping for more success with our Spain vs England betting tips for Monday's match.

Spain vs England Betting Tips

Here are our best tips for Monday's match and we also have a range of other markets available:

The lowdown

Luis Enrique's side came from behind to beat the Three Lions 2-1 in the opening match of the tournament five weeks ago and start Monday's match as clear favourites despite England's goalless draw with World Cup finalists Croatia.

That defeat extended England's winless run against Spain to three games - all of which have taken place over the last three years.

England were just moments away from earning a 2-0 win at Wembley in 2016 but Iago Aspas and Isco struck inside the final two minutes to earn Spain a 2-2 draw in Southgate's final match as interim manager.

That seems like a lifetime ago as Southgate applied a long-term approach for the World Cup by sweeping away the old guard with youngsters - a principle he is determined to keep despite the latest defeat by Spain.

In the wake of the loss at Wembley, Southgate said: "Over the 90 minutes we've got to accept that Spain were better than us for long periods in the game. We've got to keep faith with the way we're trying to play otherwise we go back to what we did historically.

"We've got to be brave enough to stick to our principles and just get better at what we're doing but it's not going to be an easy task because you can see the level of the top teams."

That tells us what we should expect on Monday and so the first of our free football tips is for Spain to win and under 3.5 goals at 23/20.

First goalscorer tips

Marco Asensio did not start the England game but he did come on as a sub for the last 20 minutes and played a key role in Spain's 6-0 win against Croatia in which he scored the second goal and provided three assists.

That was his first goal for Spain but his eye-catching performance against the Croats means he could start the England game and get our first goalscorer tips off to a cracking start.

Anytime goalscorer tips

Alvaro Morata has rediscovered his touch at Chelsea after scoring in his last two games and the England game could be the perfect time to stake his claims to a regular starting berth, especially in the absence of Diego Costa.

Morata scored on his last international appearance in the 3-0 World Cup qualifying win against Italy over a year ago and could be on target in Andalucia.

Feature match previews for this week

If you're interested in tips on the forthcoming international matches, check out our in-depth previews below:

Where the game will be won or lost

Luis Enrique has already stated that the "vital" game over the past few days is England and he is likely to pick his strongest squad for the clash in Seville.

Spain have been more direct and aggressive under the former Barcelona coach who has ditched the possession-based game that had been the envy of the world.

The result against Croatia will have reverberated through the international superpowers and a BetStars Odds Boost on either a 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 win is the second of our Spain vs England tips at 2/1.

England have lost on their last four visits to Spain without scoring and although they have struck three times against the 2010 world champions under Southgate and were denied a fourth by a dubious refereeing decision at Wembley, Luis Enrique is determined to do well in what he described as "a perfect competition."

The last of our free football tips is for more goals to be scored in the first half at 43/20. That was the case in the wins against England and Wales, plus they also banged in three against Croatia in the first 45 minutes only to do the same again after the break.

La Roja are a team in a hurry under Luis Enrique, so 43/20 looks like good value in the last of our Spain vs England betting tips.

Team news

England midfielder Jordan Henderson and defender John Stones were both booked against Croatia which means they are suspended for Monday's match. Youngster Jadon Sancho made an impressive cameo role in the second and may get more extended playing time.

Luis Enrique rang the changes for the game in Cardiff and gave Wolves defender Jonny his debut as a second-half substitute, but we expect him to name his best side.
