Canadiens to be too slick for Oilers in NHL treble
It's a busy night of action again in the NHL tonight with 12 games on tap and some intriguing match-ups.
We've picked out our best bets from the action with a £10 stake returning just over £150 if all three are successful.
Montreal Canadiens -1.5 @ 19/10
The Canadiens will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome the Edmonton Oilers to Montreal on Saturday evening.
Montreal had looked like they had got their season back on track with a five-game winning streak but have now lost back-to-back one-goal games against the St Louis Blues and Calgary Flames.
They will be boosted against the Oilers by the return of top-line centre Jonathan Drouin and he should line up with Andrew Shaw and Alex Galchenyuk on his wings. Montreal, though, will need more offensive output from Galchenyuk, who has just two goals in his last 18 games.
The Oilers have lost six of their last 10 games and lie in 14th place in the Western Conference with only the Arizona Coyotes below them.
But despite their lowly standing they still cannot be underestimated with Connor McDavid and his 33 points in the line-up. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl also have 20 points each, while Montreal's leading scorer Brendan Gallagher only has 19.
Regardless, the Habs should have too much in the tank for the Oilers at the Bell Centre.
New Jersey Devils to beat the New York Rangers @ 43/20
The Devils surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose 5-3 to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday and will hope to immediately put that right when they make the short trip to Madison Square Garden.
New York will still be without centre Mika Zibanejad for a fifth game with concussion and in a game which may be a battle of the back-up goalies, the Devils should just edge victory.
Los Angeles Kings to beat the Carolina Hurricanes @ 4/6
It is hard not to see the Western-Conference leading Kings extend their winning streak to eight games here.
They have the lowest goals against average in the league and the top penalty-killing, running at 89%, and Carolina have not won on their travels for nearly a month and with a powerplay connecting on just 15.7% of chances and a penalty kill of 57%, special teams is a major weak point.
